Another feature to Stonecrest at Clayton View is its unique dining experience, as the dining experience is one to be savored and we aim to highlight the local flair of St. Louis throughout.
“My father loves it here. He is enjoying all of the outings; they took the residents to see the lights at the park. They have a nice restaurant there with great food and a lot of arts and crafts activities. The place is beautiful and very clean. He’s been in other communities before and he finally says he has found one that he can call home.”
Vibrant Life® is an innovative approach designed for enhancing and enriching residents’ lives across seven core components for well-rounded and meaningful experiences. These core components provide the balanced structure for implementing diversity across the Vibrant Life program. Just as in the tag line for the program, “Be Vibrant. Be You,” the core components take the active label of “Be…” in each title descriptor for emphasis on action by our residents embracing a truly Vibrant Life. Our Vibrant Life mission statement is “To optimize health and well-being by passionately promoting a Vibrant Life filled with joyful experience, meaningful endeavors, and abundant opportunities to connect with family, friends and the local community.”
“After close to 2 months of my loved one’s move to Stonecrest, I want to comment and compliment you on the care he has received. I have visited daily and sometimes multiple times a day. I am so impressed by the whole picture. Impressive and immaculate setting, the attentive and courteous staff, the fine dining and pleasant atmosphere are among the many attributes that strike me every time I walk through the door.”
Music and Memory
Stonecrest at Clayton View is a certified Music and Memory community! As a Certified Music and Memory Community, Stonecrest at Clayton View is part of a national research initiative designed to focus on learning how residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia can benefit from listening to personalized music. Music and Memory is a program which enables residents to listen to personalized music playlists, created with input from residents themselves as well as family, friends and staff. These playlists are loaded onto iPods so residents can connect with the music they love, with the goal of improving their overall health and well-being.
The Music and Memory program was recently featured in the documentary ALIVE Inside. Filmmaker Michael Rossato-Bennett created video which showcases the efforts of Dan Cohen, founder of Music & Memory, offering music streamed through iPods to help people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias reconnect with themselves and to other people and places. After witnessing the effect that music had on seniors, it spurred Rossato-Bennett into following Cohen for three years filming countless stories of the power of music and memory which would become a full blown documentary film.
